Mexican Pewter - Miscellaneous
The secret of Mexican pewter artwork has been passed from one
generation to another. Every piece of pewter displays the
dedication and tradition of Mexican craftsmen. Pewter is given
its form through the ancient method of sand casting, making sure
during the process to keep the pewters quality and thermal
properties. Each piece is cast with a particular hand made
mold, resulting in a unique work of art. All takes shape
magically in the hands of the proud Mexican artisans. The
process is 100% hand made, except for the final polishing.
Mexican pewter is made with a lead free alloy of Tin, Copper and
Antimony; this makes it safe for food and drink, however it is not
recommended for cooking. Pewter requires less maintenance than
other metals and retains its luster and strength for many years.
Washing it with soap and water is recommended as dishwashers can
dull the surface.
